Question on Cambridge DAC Magic

Hi

I recently got a complementary new transformer from Cambridge as they acknowledged a problem which is prone to come with the old transformer. Apparently the old transformer is expected to develop a crack. The new transformer has a different design and hums constantly. I dont have any problems or cracks with the old transformer. The only configuration difference is that the old transformer is 150 mA and the new one is 130 mA.

Has any old else received a new transformer from cambridge? do you have a similar humming sound?

I received a new transformer but it doesn't make any noise at all.

Hi,

I was planning on buying the DacMagic pretty soon and pairing it with the Denon 5000s and some sort of amp.  I'm currently trying to decide between a solid state or tube amp.  Does the DacMagic pair better with one type of amp over another?  Thank you for the advice
