I have a laptop with motherboard failure + cracked casing after an accidental drop on the floor. Since its out of warranty, I was quoted around $800 to fix it.

I found a similar laptop on ebay but of inferior model. Its processor is slightly slower, memory less and its screen is XGA instead of the SXGA i had.

Question: Is it possible to swap the laptop lcd screen from my laptop to the laptop? does a SXGA screen require a different motherboard to function?

My model:
