MP3 player for my girlfriend, help me choose

I am looking into getting a nice and decent MP3 player for my gf, as she has given her Nano away to her sister, so is now wihtout a player. I am not looking into anything overly too expensive but more so better value for money, basically this is what I am looking for:

1. Flash Drive player
2. 4 to 8 GB preferable with Micro SD slot for expansion
3. Good if not decent SQ
4. Something that would drive IEMs well

Clip+ should fit the spec perfectly, I've already got a 8gb Clip myself but I've just ordered myself the Clip+ purely because of the Micro SD slot. To be honest I use my clip as a 'knock about rig' when I know it might be subject to abuse, it's cheaper to replace than my Nano's and sound pretty decent as well.

Here's a link to a review: SanDisk Sansa Clip+ Plus Review

Cheers

why not a hifi man? you cant put a price on love, haha

sansa fuze would also be a good choice depending on if you want screen size and a wheel scroller over the clip/clip+

get her a Sony 16gb E-series (no memory slot) or get her a Sansa Fuse or Clip+, they are all under 90USD and sound good,

Chicks dig i-pods!

Chicks dig i-pods! - everybody knows - give her Touch..she will love you.

Got my wife a sansa Fuze (pink) and both of my daughters Sansa Clips. Even my 7 year old can tell the SQ difference between her nano and her clip, she said her music sounded better out of the clip.

Sansa Fuze or Clip+ is really the only options IMO.

Fuze may be better for a girlfriend - it looks much nicer than the clip+.

Yea I'd definitely say the Fuze > Clip in this situation. Although she would definitely love an iPod haha; get her a Touch if you can spare the extra cash... otherwise the Fuze should do nicely.

Well my gf doesnt and is not into all this luxury stuff, its what comes from the heart counts she's made it clear with me. Even if tomorow I bought her some cheap MP3 player from Kmart she would be happy, she doesn't judge me for my money etc, she judges me by my personality and what my heart has to offer.

On the 2nd note the good thing about Ipods are their aesthetic looks (though I think the other players are better looking myself) but thats really what their good at.

Th Fuze or Clip might not look good to you, but its SQ is something that no Ipod or will ever match, simple.

I would rather give her something with good SQ than something with ordinary SQ, simple.

Ok I've narrowed my choice down to 4 choices:

1. Sansa Fuze
2. Sansa Clip+
3. Iriver
4. And prob a 2nd hand Zen Neeon

I have seen a 2GB new Fuze on Ebay for AU$89 and as always she can always add a MSD card down the track as well. Or a 4GB Clip+ for AU$79.00

You can find on this forum opinions coming from recognized audiophiles authorities which praised latest IpodTouch for its high SQ;should I name them?
In US: i-pod/i-phone is social thing,if you are youngster - you want i-pod - nothing else will do;putting this aside - you cant shut your ears for obvious facts.

very important consideration is - the capacity of lady's handbag:big or small - they are always full.Your choice makes much sense!Sansa is the size of lipstick;
there is a chance, that it will find place in your Lady's handbag;i-podTouch would end up in the drawer!Sansa is also very cute,it might be even more important.
Last month - I had bought 3 SansaClip+: great sound without hype!

Wait, does your girl know nothing about sound?
If so, get her something that looks good, not a great sounding brick like the clip+ that she'll never used near her friends.
