Hi,
I'm making a surround-chair consisting of a 5:1 system mounted to a barkalounger (2 speakers in the back, 3 up front and the bass under the chair). I'm thinking of connection a set of headphones to act as the front speakers and instead connect the front speakers together with the center, making it all-in-all 3 center speakers, 2 rear speakers + headphones as main left and right.
Now, I have bought the surround system with a DVD/receiver to connect everything to. However, I don't know how to go about in order to connect the headphones. I don't want to connect it to the headphone-output as I ONLY want sounds from the front Left and Right speakers to come through. Is there a way to connect the headphones to the speaker inputs on the back of the receiver? I assume there will be issues concerning the amount of voltage a set of headphones can undertake before they burn up..
The easiest way would be to get a PC-surround-system and just replace the front-speaker-jack with the 3.5mm headphone-jack. But I will explore the possibilities with my current setup before I throw in the towel.
Any ideas?
