May i ask wich cable and tubing you used on your cable?

You bet. Here you go..

  • CryoParts TWcu copper (www.cryo-parts.com)
  • Cryo'd 1/4" Tinned copper shielding
  • Pet Flex 3/8" Carbon

It's expensive, but if you're making a small one and not spending silly amounts (like I did) on the connectors, it won't hurt nearly as bad as paying for a ready-made IC.

Thank you!!

I was brooding over the parts and not sure if i should use copper shielding or not. I plan to make the cable around 15cm long so i can retain some flexability.

I didn't anticipate the price difference to be so noticeable.

Sorry to bother you again Mediagore, but did you only use a third wire for grounding or only the shield?

Crap, dude! I'm sorry. I haven't looked at this thread for a few days. I hope I'm not too late.

I actually used a third length of the same wire to ground both connectors. I then grounded the shield on just the side I'd designated as the source side and "floated" the other end of the shield. An unnecessary precaution I later learned. But just in case those expensive little wires do burn in directionally, supposedly, I've done it the "right" way. ;) Anyway, the way I did it works perfectly. No hum and it's shielded up the wazoo.
