The IE8 is the only IEM that got me to sell my beloved HD600 (favorite full size headphone), but it may have been more out of convenience than anything else. They are somewhat close in sound, but don't assume that the IE8 is the HD600 in IEM form. Detail level is about the same, the HD600 has bigger soundstage and definitely sounds smoother than the IE8. IE8 has punchier bass. To me, it sounded like the IE8 had slightly more treble extension but not necessarily more sparkly treble. It's hard to really compare, though, given that the rest of the rig affects the sound and the HD600 definitely benefits more from a nice amp and DAC.
