^^ Indeed. Despite butchering my name, Qusp has said it. The 600Ω sound pretty damn good from any source, but there is just so much more refinement to be had when there is the power, and I am not talking about volume, but control. I find they don't respond nearly as well as my DJ1Pro to loads more power, but thee is a marked difference between properly amped and mildly amped.

TBH, they sound good from an iPod or AMP3 Pro2, but next to even the Voyager (portable amp), something is lacking.

i still cant decide to pair a p51, tomawhawk, hornet M, pico, alo rx, headsix with my 225I.any comments on this?

I purchased a Total Bithead solely to bypass the noisy headphone jack on my laptop. I decided to get some decent headphones at the same time and bought the D2000's. I'm still using this setup for primary home use.

I had the 225's for a long time and I always thought they sounded great with everything. In the long run I mostly use Ray's portables with all of my Grado's and I think they're a great combo.

...pretty much, no but I'd go with Pico based on my experience with it amping 325i. Pico is fairly expensive but a Hornet M should be easier on the wallet since it's been around for several years.

'going wrong' is more about your individual preferences in terms of warmth vs detail, IMO - I tend to prefer warmth over clinical detail levels, but many here are 180 degrees the other way.

basically if i could have any amp it would be pico or p51 based on reviews but these amps rarely come up fs hence why i was asking bout hornet and tomahawk etc.

Minibox-E+ + HD600/DT880/SR325/anything(lol) = WIN

Not to mention the amp has a real nice low profile.

I just got a SR-71A for my DT880 and RS1, SR325i and I am satisfied with this setup. I tried k702, but I guess they are not a good match.
