Hmm, I wonder if Digi-key sent you the wrong part. Texas Instruments SN74AHC1G08DBVR should have marking "A08_" where _ is a factory code.

Well that would be a cheap fix! I'll order another (perhaps from Mouser) and try that.

The NXP part is also marked AO8 (or at least the ones I have in front of me are).
The part you have installed doesn't look like a SOT-23-5 chip either so....

U2U was in fact the wrong part! Correct part installed and now working. It sounds fantastic! Thanks everyone for all of your help!

That was pretty quick. Digi-key customer service or did you order one from another supplier?
