I've noticed that some songs sound louder in the left side of my headphones. The sound balance is in the middle and these headphones are fairly new, so it must be the songs. Does anyone know why this is?

This question does come up every now and then...many agree (myself included) that most music seems to favor the left side, sometimes by a noticeable amount. This is a mastering decision, so perhaps they were compensating for all the times they had their window down when they were driving down the highway?

Heh, so you're saying that it is a preference when the songs were created and not a technical restriction?

Sometimes it sounds completely wrong to me as I am used to bass and piano being on the right side of me on stage.

And when there is distortion it´s always in the right ear first? Anyone noticed that phenomena? I have yet to encounter a scenario where I get more distortion on the left side???
Otherwise how do the different brainhalves perceive audio? May it be one half processing the audio more then the other that create this effect?

i always thought that it wasnt as loud in my right ear, and that the soundstage was slightly shifted to the left. But then i went to the audiologist for the impressions for my jh-13's, and iut turns out it was because of a giant wad of earwax that was impacted against my eardrum, and hurt like heck to get removed, but afterwards everything was centered as it should be, with no more imbalance

Have you tried swapping the cups around, and/or swapping the L and R input leads, to see where the balance problem is? It could be your cans or your ears that are malfunctioning.
