SONY E-443 and SONY A828 - Same Sound Quality?

Please help. I need this answered ASAP. Wouldn't like to go trial&error and buy the E-443 to see if it does really sounds like the A828.

Trustedreviews says the E-443 sound is very good, gave it a 9, but is it as good as the A818/A828?

You probably want to double check this but I think I read on here that the E series doesn't have as many sound adjustment options. Not sure if this relates to the EQ, which IMO is the only one that's really necessary, but if the E doesn't have the same EQ functions to me that is a pretty big disadvantage. Again, I'm not sure about that though.

Hi tman1,

Yes, I think it does. They say it has the same Clear Audio Technology, etc, and the A818's EQ is so basic that I think it is the same thing. The only thing on the A818's EQ is Clear Bass, which the E-443 also has.

I prefer the E-443 over the A818 due to the size/portability and design... It's an offer to my girlfriend and I'm sure she will prefer the E-443 design, but she's a musician and loves sound quality. I want to offer her the best. The A818 (8GB) is second hand (60€) with no warranty, but its like new and the E-443 is just 65€ new with warranty. I personally don't like the A818 design (outdated). But the Sound Quality (SQ) is the most importantly.

I'd choose the E443 without a doubt. I don't care for the design as much as the sound quality, and this is my choice after listening to both.

Thanks a tone majkel!

So, are you saying that the E-443 sounds better than A818/A828? How can it be?! I thought those were the best sounding players from Sony (except X series, of course).
