I totally agree with mvw2. I love my IE8 very much.
After trying high-end IEMs like CK10 and Triple Fi, I really appreciate what IE8 can gives me.
CK10 is hot in head-fi recently, and I bought one last week out of curiousity. It gives good clarity, mids and highs are absolutely better than IE8 (I think I should say more forward but not better, because CK10 and IE8 both presents music in a very different way), but I prefer IE8 sound siganture by a fair margin. Being a dynamic IEM, IE8 is able to provide good (but not top-notched) detail and isntrument seperation. In fact to my ears IE8 has better instrument seperation than CK10.
In a nutshell, IE8 presents music like no others in my opinion. That being said, I hope IE8 has more clarity in the midrange and I think the bass could be a little bit tighter.
