If anyone's interested, Overstock.com still has refurbed 2GB c250s for $25:

I bought one last week and it shipped fast. It was version 1 and I promptly threw Rockbox v3.5 on it. It takes my 8GB microSD card just fine. I don't have a higher capacity to verify but I read on another forum someone had no problem with 16GB either.
For 25 bucks even at my current 10GB this was a pretty good deal. Sound is very good and, as mentioned, the ability to Rockbox this just makes it all the better.
