Headphone repair--Chicago area

I was wondering if anyone knew of shops that would solder on a new jack? This is incedibly easy stuff. Three wires, to a new jack, some solder, done...

Unfortunately, I'm an Iraq/A-stan vet and I suffer from nerve damage in my hand, which makes dealing with small things impossible. And I also don't have the tools/materials needed. That would cost around $40 alone, at which point I might as well just buy something new, which isn't really an option either as money is real tight.

Ive done plenty of searching, and all the electronics listings I have called are not really receptive to doing this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or anyone in the area want to make $20? I can drive to you, and supply the new plug. Shouldn't take more than a half hour, if that.

thanks

Salute, soldier. You Marine?
Which headphones do you have? Shure is in Chicago.
I believe that places that repair cellphones should be able to help.
Or, wait until the Head-Fi meet. I'm sure that there will be a whole bunch of nice people willing to help you. Sorry to hear about your injuries.

USMC

Im assuming you saw my thread about recommendations?

I was going to get the Shure SRH440, but then some turd hit my car while parked, and drove always without leaving a note. So any money I have will be going towards that...

Thanks for the kind words.

Edit: did you get my PM intoflatlines? I just sent it but it looks like it didn't go through on my end...nothing in sent items folder.

Just sent it again and nothing in the SI folder. Do you have to have a certain number of posts?
