Starting the DIY Journey...

Thread Starter
I've recently picked up a soldering iron(and shopping around for a multimeter), and next weekend going to a friends house to learn the basics of soldering and build a CMOY.

Right now I am looking for a good introductory text on electronics in general, learn the fundamentals. If there is anything specific to audio related electronics work, all the better.

I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and am now making the time to make this happen.

If you're interested in general electronics (enough to build amps and such), Getting Started in Electronics by Forrest Mims is great.

If you're interested in a really deep knowledge (enough to design amps and such), The Art of Electronics by Horowitz/Hill is often referred to as the bible.

Neither are specifically geared towards audio, but everything in them applies.
