ipod touch alternative?

Hi,

I love the touch 2G's SQ together with my IE8. However, I found that there are lots of Ipod touch's features that I don't use such as wifi, apps... because I also have a good phone
I want to sell it and buy another player with smaller size, the same or even better SQ. I'd like to know your opinion about it

Many thanks!

Both Cowon S9 and the Sony X1060 both provide superior sound quality and better battery life, the Sony might be better for you becuase cowon dosnt support AAC for some reason, given that you´re coming from an ipod, i suppose AAC compatability is an important issue,

Thanks! Sony is also my consideration too. What do you think about ipod nano?

Your best bet is to wait for the release of the Sony A840 series. It's the Sony X amp without all the extra features so the price is more palatable. It come out today in Australia and soon in Europe so you may want to import..

Doesn't it sound a little different though?

if cowon just added AAC to its S9 and I9, they would be just perfect,

s:flo2 if you don't mind the not so friendly UI and low battery life.
Some of the sony players are really good.

Sansa Fuze would be a nice upgrade.

Lol I completely forgot; the Sansa Fuze/Clips would be great like kunalraiker stated above. They both have micro sd slots too for expandable storage.

Plus, w/RockBox on a V1 clip or Fuze, it's got a usable EQ.

Sanza Fuze is that good for SQ eh? Better than ZUnes? Can you do drag and drop seemlessly on it without s/w?

If you can get a sony X1060 for a good price then shoot for it as it synergies very well with the IE8. A S730 is also smaller and to me there is a noticeable improvement in overall SQ over the ipod touch 2G.
