I’ve decided to keep this thread running with progress pics for all who are interested, those that want to comment feel free. I was initially going with a single SpeakOn umbilical but have decided to go PowerCon therefore I’ll have two umbilicals as these only come in 3 pole. Here’s a new updated layout with the PowerCons in place.



Heres a pic of how my panel layouts are shaping up.



The case is a Par-Metal series 20, customised 12W X 16D X 4H with identical 5mm thick front panels on either end. I plan to use a local shop for all laser cutting and engraving, the base will also have the holes laser cut. My drilling skills suck, this is a lazy mans way out.

The psu will serve headphone and speaker duties for a balanced EHHA (in progress) and another long way down the track balanced β22, which I plan to do a little differently than my last build.

Seems like a silly thing to pick on, but I don't see why you need to engrave around the switch. It certainly doesn't add anything IMHO......

I disagree, I think it will add a nice detail. nice work again John, BTW you using the custom art brushes for the wiring colours. thats what I have been doing, just creat a series of the different coloured lines and creat an art brush, then draw a bezier with the art brush and voila

Beefy you're right, I'm going to scrap it and stick to less is more. BTW the fonts Helvetia Light thanks to your tour de force DAC.

Qusp! You got in a whiska before my post, I manually draw the lines in using the pen tool, I set the colour to multiply so any graphics under will show through. I like your custom brush idea, that would work nicely too.

Heh, I used that because it was the only decent font in the Front Panel Designer software. Worked out for the best though

yeah multiply for sure, give the art brush thing a go, big time saver, because its repeatable and the lines are still editable, so you draw the line with the art brush, then option click them to splay it out, or select all the end points and scale from a point near the end.

Small suggestion for your output wiring since they are in the middle of the boards it may be better to wire them on the underside of the board. Less obstacles for them to route around and with those heatsinks you should have plenty of clearance to put the terminals on the underside of the boards.
