Woodied/Metal Grado sr60i

So i got a pair of 60is to play with instead of taking apart my 325is all the time. I had the metal cups left over from my woodied 325s. I put those on the 60s aswell as dynamat on the transducer last night and damn they were nice. So this morning at work I took the woodies off the 325s and put them on the 60s. They also sound awesome. I am having alot of fun with these grados and am glad I found this site after a bout with some qc15s that made me sick.

Any specific changes of note with the sound on the 60's? It would be fun trick out a cheaper Grado for giggles.
Is the Dynamat a must?

they sound alot better with the metal cups. The bass is more punchy to me. I read here about the dynamat and just bought a sheet to play with. Other than the cheap headband these 60s rock now. I really only bought them to take them completly apart for a woodworker to make me a complete set of woodies.
