First post :-)

I've built an Oatley K272 headphone amp based on a couple of miniture tubes to use with my iphone 3g and ipod 5g. Bit of customisation now; a couple of potentiometers to adjust gain at the tube and solid state stages, another battery in parallel to get it to last a little longer etc.

However my first priority is to be able to use my mic and remote button adaptor.

The easy way to do this would be to take everything through the headphone jack and just have a pass through on the mic line. The ground would feed through the amp but it should still short to the mic line when the button is pressed so the remote should still work.

However I'm also building a lineout cable to take the audio through the dock connector to get the most out of the amp.

So my question is this. Is it possible to take the 4th pole (the mic line that also gets shorted to the ground to trigger the remote) from the dock connector and if so how and from what pin? If its not possible, is there some way to have my griffin headphone mic/remote adaptor solely as a mic/remote and still take the audio from the dock connector? I presume the Lineout will disable the headphone jack completely, not just the sound from it.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
