ipod LOD with mini usb charging pinouts

Hi all,
I wanna make a charging ipod lod, inspired by stevenkelby's awesome cables. Naturally, I wanna double check before making an expensive mistake. After reading the pinouts from http://www.qables.com/shop/images/pdf/ipodpinout.pdf and
Apple iPod and iPhone (2g, 3g) Dock Interfaces pinout and wiring @ pinouts.ru

I'm gonna make something like this:

I would just connect the USB normally.

That way you can use it as a USB and LOD cable at the same time..
Thats what I do. but.. I also have a modded version of rockbox that doesn't go into HDD mode unless you hold a button. I could give it to you, if you wanted.

In any case, you definitely need to connect USB ground (pin 16) to whatever pin is ground on USB. (according to your diagram, pin 4).

Thanks man, I'll ground pin 16 to usb GND. So, the rest looks ok?

Also, I haven't source/canibalize mini usb B socket anyway.. worst case I'm gonna use 2.5mm mono socket. This is harder than I thought.
