Monster Turbine Pro Copper - Page 9

I don't have the Ortofon (hopefully within a month or so), but the Copper blows the Atrio out of the water completely IMO. No contest. The Copper is much more spacious with better everything. It is a top tier IEM along with the Ortofon (from what I have read), but I would not consider the M5 in that category.

@ maximus, The MD set, has not have quite the low bass athourity of the gold. None of of the pro or MD has quite the midbass from what I have read. OTOH, the pro/MD set have much more to offer. Being that the bass is very important to you, the Gold might be the way to go. It is going to give you the closest bass to your original turbine, and still surpass it in every other area by a wide margin.
Concerning the other question on comparing the klipsch x10, and atrio, at least in my opinion, neither come close to any of the three top Monster iem's in any way shape or form. My next iem purchase will almost surely be the ortofon's. The atrio had a popular run, however, shortly after, they were all over the F/S section. The klipsch x10, well it just doesn't compete any area that comes to mind, the atrio were given away, and I;m not sure where my x10's are, So far, I would say, The copper, is the most spacious and accurate of the three. The gold, the smoothest and best bass allthings considered. The MD, has the best mids, and it would be tough to say much more as to my opinions of the three so far, It would seem that all three all a tough to beat at the price point, since all 3 can be found at considerably lower prices, with the gold being found at 200, leading the pack. At this point in time, I am leaning in slight favor towards the MD set. As my personal favorite, but it is still too early to say that with out hesitation. That's the best I can do for now. For the small price premium over the atrio, the gold crushes it for what I would imagine includes the vast majority of listeners. I can't imagine the x10 competing either, I will attempt to dig them up and try a listen. That said, I remember thinking not so highly of the x10.........to the point of not liking them at all, although not as bad as the atrio..I thought the atrio was a stinker. (Sorry atrio fans)

Hello again,
I did some more reading today and I am quite sure I want to get the monster turbine pro copper. I hope electric guitars will sound as good as they do on grados (the only good quality of grados IMHO) but i just thought the gold might have had a bit too much bass for me.
I am a bit confused though, are these available in europe at all? I did some googling but couldnt find them anywhere locally. I know some authorized dealers on this forum sell internationally but then there is always the buckload of money i have to pay to customs.
Btw: i saw them at earphonesolutions and soundearphones for 380 but at headroom for 250 all in. I wonder if this is right, they all seem to be authorized dealers and include shipping.
I would certainly be willing to pay 250 including shipping but not sure about 380.
Greetings, Anouk,

DAMN apparently headroom cant ship them outside the usa. I will have to check if earphonesolutions or soundearphones can do it.

Hope you find a great deal.

Is the difference between Gold and Copper quite apparent?
I can't beleive it would be that apparent because the construction is basically the same.

The construction and even the drivers can be the seem but they can be tuned differently. I hear that can make a big difference indeed.

Do the gold and copper housing contribute anything to the overall sound sig? Or just to distinguish?

Hello everyone,
GREAT news! I just heard back from earphonesolutions and they can do 250 dollar. It does not include shipping but at least they do ship internationally unlike headroom.
I can tell you all that I am very happy, i was afraid i would have to go second hand or have someone else in the states buy it for me and send it via the post.
Fedex is only 25 dollar extra which isnt too bad at all because often in the past it was 40 dollars for fedex shipping and fedex here in nl works quite well and it will be here in 2 working days unlike normal shipping which takes at least a week and often 10 working days.

NO.the gold and copper colors have nothing to do with the sound signature. They use different cables, and are tuned differently. They do not sound night and day different. As joe said, guitars are fantastic on the Copper, although the gold do well also. MD evaluation still underway, I am really loving the MD set, the Gold and Copeer are both Great sets, not sure I'd say one is better, rather preferences being the deciding factor.

Greetings, Anouk,
well doesn't fedex, like ups, implements high brokerage fees? With the hefty brokerage fees i think it would all add up to pretty expensive...

Just a quick note on guitars and Grados wrt MTP (Gold in my case, waiting to get Copper soon). Nothing, and I mean nothing, captures the grunge of electric guitars as close to Grado as the Turbine family. The Golds, because they are more neutral in the bass and tighter in the mids and treble, are an improvement, and still seem to bring the Grado guitar quality to an IEM. I have swapped all my Grados, and the Turbines/Pros just bring this sound to an IEM. Pretty cool, and great to have that sound on the road.
