That volume control starts to get noisey & when I adjust it sometimes it turn off the right channel or the left channel..etc

So I removed it by pulling all the wires from it , then I tried connecting each wire to the same colored wire .. but I got no sound at all

Any help ? will it work again ?

the headphone wire is enameled, you need to melt or scrape off the enamel from the wire before reconnecting.

you have to hold it there for a while, till there is no surface tension between the solder blob and wire

What soldering iron are you using? You need pretty high temps to use solder blobs to melt enamel off.

40 watt

I put the soldering iron on the twisted wires for a while (3-4 sec) before I do any soldering .. does that damage the wires ?
