Furthermore, they don't tell you what the bill will be until AFTER it's charged to your credit card?

perhaps you didn't read what the person wrote carefully enough. Shipping is calculated after the invoice is displayed and agreed to. Hence, the final amount is given "after" it's charged to your credit card.

Dude, the way I read it, that is how you started this thread.

Clearly there was more initial intent.

Again, what I had in my cart even before I submitted the order, was what I paid.
But now that you mention it I believe that order had free shipping included.

Still, didn't happen on Farnell and even on Digikey there were no hidden taxes.

edit: I had in mind that Digikey had fixed shipping costs, and after reading through the terms and conditions they mention "A shipping charge of €18.00 will be billed on all orders of less than €65.00."
Maybe shipping is different for US and international orders?

jesus, I cant believe the grief you guys are giving the op.

Is it really that unreasonable to expect to purchase $3 worth of goods and pay something in the region of $3 - $6 dollars total?

Give the guy a freaking break.

I've dealt with PartsConnexion tons of times, especially when I was in Canada, their ordering page clearly states the handling fee and shipping method within Canada as Expedited mail.

Whenever ordering online and having something shipped, it is never a case of "$3 of goods being $3-$6 total", somebody had to pick it, pack it and ship it; that costs money.

Anyway, this seems circular - lots of things repeated, including on my part. Lesson to be gained - read terms.

Agreed, I think we're done here.
