So, how does everyone plan to do their taxes this year? Yourself, accountant, online? I think I'll be doing mine through TurboTax; this is the first time I'm on my own for taxes. Last year my parents had their accountant do mine. I don't have any difficult things; just my job, savings account, and 401k should be all I need to report.

You do not get free updates for each tax year. Each time you start TurboTax it does check for updates which are free to install. I purchase the "basic" package which has free federal e-file. Additional fees apply to buy the optional state form and e-file. At the beginning of the year Intuit starts spamming me with offers to purchase the current year TT program. Often at a discounted rate.
