I believe that the general consensus is that, with Skullcandy, you are buying the way they look and not the way they sound.

There is a slight chance something useful will be written. My skull wears Sennheiser for the moment.

You have to be very careful around here, becasue like Bose, most people who slang them off haven't actually tried the!

My issue with skullcandy it not so much the sound quaility but the build quality which feels cheap and tacky.

No on your web site (Better Sounds) you say you know a lot about audio. You write authoritatively (and wrongly) about Skullcandy there, but here you are asking us questions as if you are not familiar with SK at all. Perhaps you just make money from all those pay per click Amazon links you have? Nothing wrong with that, really. But if you really want to write good reviews on your site, you have come to the right place! We (not me, other people) know all about headphones!

If you really want our opinion, then why write this in your blog:
I think you already made your mind up.

Skullcandy is junk buy Grado instead.

Or there are consumers like me who have gone thru 3 sets of skullcandy hesh and RMAing for my 4th set to ebay them.

They are garbage headphones, stay away.

I don't know about anyone else, but IMO every single Skullcandy headphone looks like something a 13 year old girl or any boy under the age of 11 would buy/wear. That being said, I had better taste in headphone looks when I was 5.

SK Pro has awesome sound for that price. Yes I had them before. The not awesome part is at the hinges. Crack.

What's the point in trolling head-fi? The folks here are about the most friendly people I've ever seen on a forum, and trolling them isn't very nice. :/

I have listened to a variety of skullcandy headphones, and none of them so far sound even mildy impressive at their pricepoints. Sorry. Their new stuff looks like it might be quite good, but here you have to make a choice. Do you really want to give you friend better audio, or something that looks nice?

Also, honestly head-fi people, I don't think there's any need to bash SK designs. The SQ bashing isn't excessive, the design bashing is, IMO. Build quality may stink, sound may stink but their design is fine, and props to them for actually doing something different. All these hifi cans all look the same. I don't like almost any SK designs, but at least they are actually somewhat inspired, and not the usual black white and silver(god forbid any sort of pattern). People actually do like colors and theres no reason headphones can't be a fashion accessory.

Some of their designs I think are atrocious(that bullet one... eww), but the point is they actually give you options. One particular design on one headphone may be yucky, but other designs might be decent or even nice. That's more than almost any other company can say except on their extremely low end products.

On the other hand, their logo annoys me =P

if not, than please consider another brand as Skullcandy, Bose, and Monster are all brands that really dont care what price they slap on their headphones so long as they look sexy. Sennheiser has a cheap linup for around 15-30$ that all sound better than the most expensive Skullcandy you can buy.
