No, I don't make a big deal out of it. I'll talk freely about my music collection but won't mention gear unless I know the other person is also an audiophile.

Not at all. The last little bit of quality is not worth the money to me. The point of diminishing returns hits my wallet at around $200 for almost all components. The only component I can imagine spending more than that on would be speakers.

I must say, I like listening to audiophiles' systems at meets. That last 10-20% isn't worth the money for me though.

LOL I'm still looking for my second 50%...

This is all about the music though, so it doesn't matter if someone doesn't have as expensive gear as you do, it's about investing what you feel is worthwhile for how it'll let you enjoy the music. Some people don't know, some people don't care.
I just wish Orange wouldn't give out free Skullcandies with their headphones...there are already too many of those..then again, that might push people towards better things if they are disappointed but aware of the price tag.

I guess it's value for money (diminishing returns) vs happiness for money (diminishing interest)...or something like that.

Are you saying you haven't met Patrick yet?

And yeah, Kirosia used to be married. Go search through the Member's Lounge - I think there was one thread left that managed to get locked instead of deleted like the rest. I'm ptetty sure that was his second wife. He wasn't a member yet during his first marriage.

He is an enigma to me; kiro has the cleverest way to say the absurdest things, but I always thought him in uni or late in high school. But, what high school student could afford a van?
