Recommended 5.1 surround sound for laptop?

Thread Starter
Hi everybody. I'm having an Alienware laptop which has 5.1 3 analog input (green, yellow, black) as shown here:

I'm currently using a Logitech G51 (I don't think you guys audiophile even know about the poor Logitech ) and it works fine with my system since the sub woofer takes care of all satellites as shown here:

Now I'm sick of my Logitech speakers and want to try a better setup like JBL or Harman Kardon that under $500 but it looks like those kinda speakers need a receiver to connect satellites. That's a no go for me because I'm buying a DAC + Amp + Headphone for about $800 at the moment so I don't and can't buy a receiver (college student)

- So given my current audio output on my laptop, which brand/product/method can you guys recommend me to get decent 5.1 surround sound out of my laptop while still get rid of Logitech kinds products?

I'm not a native speaker and I'm a very noob so sorry for my noob post.

All helps are appreciated

There is a decent and well priced (60 bucks or so) USB transport from Sound Blaster called Surround X-Fi 5.1. Although Sound Blaster cards are mainly meant for gaming this one was clearly designed with HiFi in mind:

Creative USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Sound Card - Get more out of your music and movies

It has optical out and decent RCA outputs for front speakers but if you want to use it with G51 (for time being at least) - you can as it has surround outputs as well. It comes with a remote control and some onboard effects labeled X-Fi but you can leave this off if you do not like the sound. (On modest speakers such as your Logitech setup these effects might actually help) .

Can anyone who has auditioned both "Creative USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Sound Card" and "nuforce udac" compare the two? Thanks.

Does the udac support 5.1 surround sound? I haven't been able to find a conclusive answer yet.
