Was just casually browsing amazon, and found this

Amazon.com: Used and New: Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood: Live from Madison Square Garden [Blu-ray]

Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood: Live from Madison Square Garden [Blu-ray] (2009)

$2,104.99
+ $2.98shipping
Used - Like New

From a seller who has been around, with "97% positive over the past 12 months (425669 ratings.) 1110261 lifetime ratings."

Geez! WTF happened there??

Best part is how another guy thought this made sense and added another listing for $2,105.00$

EDIT: Oh and that other guy has the David Gilmour BluRay for 2105.00$ as well

Pricing error, remove the last digit.

Wow, great sense of humor there buddy, thanks for the brilliant revelation that it was a pricing error, I had no clue at all

Also, two different sellers wont make the same pricing error with 1 cent difference. One of them typed out the full price for sure.

This was a great idea for a thread.

The big sellers have scripts that price things relative to everyone else.

I recently saw a used Depeche Mode singles box on Amazon for $12,000.

It's available from Amazon for $23. It looks like the other seller, who happens to write superbly in Manglish, copied that mistake or attempt to rip off a baby boomer with too much money.

Sorry, there was no apparent purpose to the thread other than a misunderstanding.

Can't even throw in free shipping huh?

There are some surprisingly high prices on some used CDs on Amazon. I wonder if it is the sellers intentionally putting high prices on some items so they can get more items listed without having to risk actually having to sell one of them.

Is there some sort of advantage to having a lot of stuff listed? Do you get a better cut if you do?

Because I've noticed the same thing with a lot of OOP discs and books. They'll be listed at ridiculous prices. Awhile back, I tried to find another copy of Bruce Rozenblit's "Audio Reality," only to find it listed at something like $400. So I dropped Bruce an email and now he's offering it on disc at his site for $20 or so.

I don't know.

I'm assuming there must be some sort of advantage or reason. Otherwise why do it? Maybe they actually sell one or two at those prices? Maybe they're leaving on vacation and don't want anything to sell while they're gone? I don't know. It's also odd when there are used CDs for under $30 and others in the same condition listed for over $100.

I've seen a few of my OOP CDs listed for over $100. If the CDs are actually worth that much and actually sell for that much then I should sell them. I could buy some additional headphones. Somehow I doubt that they're actually selling for those prices. They're not collectables.

God sometimes I wonder why I even bother. Its meant to be a joke sir, you know, like hahahaha, I'm sure you've done that at some point in your life. Geez, its a casual thread about something being listed for 2 grand when its being sold for 20 bucks in the same place. It has happened before and its all over the place, just caught my eye and I thought it was funny, thats it. If you didnt find an "apparent purpose" for the thread, why did u post in it?

As for ridiculous pricing, some of these OOP SACDs can go through the roof. Theres also the possibility that someone might accidentally buy something for more than its worth when you have a ton of listed items. On amazon, you dont pay to have stuff listed anyway AFAIK, so you might as well list as much as you possibly can I guess.
