Sketchy eBay auction for HD650's?

I'm looking to upgrade from my Beat's by Dre headphones (don't flame me!) and I'm thinking this is a great price for these 650's.

Ships out of Hong Kong though, which raises the first flag.

What do you guys think?

Forgot to post the link!

You forgot the link buddy.

Haha, we certainly won't flame you.

I don't see a link?

Based from what you said alone--if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

The HD650's should go for about $275-$300 used? Don't quote me on that until others agree.

Price is not exactly cheap. I got mine from headroom for $350. Although it seems that promo is over now. Shop around some more. You'll find a better deal, for sure.

Aye, if you're just upgrading off the Beats, then I'd recommend buying used first. Worst case scenario, you could probably resell the used headphones for the price you bought them for if you find that they aren't your taste.

Also, don't forget an amp if you grab a pair of HD650s.

Okay, just found some from a member on head-fi for $283 including shipping. Slight tear in the earpads but I think i'll replace those from Sennheiser if I end up enjoying these.

If I use them with my Onkyo SR-606 A/V receiver (music from Apple TV - Apple Lossless), would that suit the 650's?

You'll get decent sound, but the 650s won't be driven to even close to their potential without a dedicated headphone circuit/amplifier.

That was me, actually. I'm very pleased with them.

it's a small world huh.

Yeah, no kidding!

I was pleased with their service for the most part. Shipping took two weeks from China to Ontario, though my only complaint was that they didn't actually package the headphones but rather wrapped the Sennheiser box with brown parcel paper. Still though, they managed to arrive unscathed.

In the US, you can get new ones for low $300's from several authorized sources.

Dont be ashamed of your Beats. They are a pretty good sounding set, they are just very overpriced. Very sexy and visually pleasing, its just not something a real audiophile would choose.

if you look into this users feedback on ebay, you wont find many headphones sales and reviews. Also, you really should not ever buy from out of the country you are in. Honestly I've bought from China before, im a USA buyer, and ive never once had a decent product shipped to me. Always something wrong, fake, broken or busted and the return process is well over a month.

Looking to buy a HD650 as well and price in Canada is ridiculous. Saw this ebay seller and I was hesitant as I did not see any HD650 sold by him. Good to catch this thread and saw positive feedback.

A common mispreception. Some receivers/integrated amps have very good headphone outs. I have no idea about the OP's Onkyo.
