Just put my Triple.fi in the washer... - Page 2

I can't disagree. They are going nowhere, and if I keep using them all the time, I might have to consider shedding my W2s. Not sure yet, but it's starting to cross my mind (and of course use the money for a backup pair, in case AT stops making them).

Ok, here is the break down.

They are broken. The left ear has a light hiss in it, and the right one has no bass anymore. Even with correct seal.

I called my insurance company and they told me they did not cover Washing machine, but suggested I call my credit card company. So I called them, and they were wildly helpful. However since I was on a recorded line and said: washing machine... they could not do anything. But suggested that any other thing that could have happened to them would have been covered. So I learned my lesson, but have stayed on the good side of law and not committed insurance fraud, but am now out a pair of (in my opinion) high quality head phones, which I used for at least 200+ hours since I got them about 2 months ago.

I am disappointed, but I have just ordered my CK10s, to see if they stack up next to my others. I hear they are quite possibly very much better. So I am excited, but I am not going to hold them up to rigorous expectations anymore than my first impressions with the Triple.fi. Though with my speaker set up and my studio headphones, I think they are going to have to really impress me.

Thanks for the tips and help. The brooding excitement of possibly not losing my investment was fun, but the let down, was expected. I have learned a very important lesson, so I am going to take that with me. And treat these as if they were my fetus, gestating in my ears, and in their carrying case only. No more pockets of things that get washed.

Just be prepared to try tip options if the OEM tips are not working. As noted, the Shure triple flanges are one good alternative, the one I use, and the CK10s sound sublime.

Damn, well sorry about that man, at least you could get another pair of IEMs rather quickly and those will be great as well

It could be worse.

Did the colour run?

Luckily I washed them with like colors, so I did not notice if they ran.
