A good 64Gb player?

G'day guys!

I'm fairly new here, but i've been watching the forums for some time now!

And i've been looking for my next DAP. I currently use an ipod classic 120gb, and although it's pretty good i'd like to try something that sounds better!

I've been looking at Sony and their X series, Cowon and their S9, and based on allll the feedback that has been provided here, they both seem excellent! However the sony is limited, expensive and the others functions - that i would appreciate to use - seem to be poorly implemented. On the other hand, the S9 is more open, plenty of formats supported, frequent updates, but with apparently a UI a bit more complicated to use. I do prefer the quality build of the sony over the S9.

But the main problem is: i'd like more capacity than 32Gb! Seriously i can't store all my music on this - especially since it's actually more like 29 usable gb!

That's precisely why i got the classic in the first place! 110 usable Gb, it's more than enough, and it's in a small package!

Then i had hope with sony's A series .... til i knew they decided to release only 16 & 32 Gb versions in EU and Asia pacific WTF?!

So i'm kinda desperate to find a good sounding alternative to apple. I'd love to love Cowon or Sony, but with 32gb i simply can't!

I do know however that the S9 and X series were released some time ago and deep down inside i crazily hope that improved 64gb versions are coming out! I just read a 2 months old post mentioning an eventual 64gb version of the x series...

Do you guys and any ideas or info regarding a possible/probable coming release of 64gb DAPs? Whether from Sony (although i kinda gave up on them) or Cowon? Or maybe others?

Based on previous years/experiences, do manufacturers tend to release new products at particular periods of time ?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

do you want flash memory only or no problem with hardisk base?

For Flash memory:
- Ipod Touch 3G 64gb
- Sony A847 japanese version only, for US version still unknown

upcoming when the microSDHC 32gb version release:
- Samsung M1 32gb + 32gb
- Creative zen x-fi2 32gb + 32gb

for HDD base player:

You can buy the A847 64GB Japanese version as well from pricejapan.com and the like.
The player is charged through the supplied USB cable, so there are no issues with charger/voltage.
The player also supports both drag/drop and sorting by tags, so no real knowledge of Japanese is needed, operation is easy as well.

Yeah i have seen the A847 on ebay, but i'm not so enthusiastic about the whole interface being in japanese...i'm gonna have no clues as to how to adjusts the settings and navigate through the menus unless i've got the manual with me....which kinda sucks for a device this price

Creative Zen X-Fi,the only solution, very good and cheap. You can get 32G model
Where is 64G then?in memory slot - SD,stick inside 32G card and you are happy.
Of course - you can have many cards and unlimited storage.SD cards are cheaper then microSD.Memory card is not integrated, and I like this, many people dont.I used 16G and 8G cards.8G is the best economy(18$ a piece).
ZenX-Fi will cost you - 200$,32G card - 100?Sony 64G - 400$
there is older model ZenMX with SD slot- but max capacity is 16G,it is cheaper.
What about venerable Cowon D3?with hard drive - 80G.
