Hey guys,
I've had the Ultrasone HFI-700 headphones for a few years (technically, they are Ozma7 because I prefer the color), and they really changed the way I listen to music. It changed me from a normal listener into what I would call an audio enthusiast (I wouldn't call myself a true audiophile, I can't afford to be an audiophile
).
Anyways, I've always had one problem with my HFI-700's. After many hours of use, the outer part of my ears will begin to hurt quite a bit, and when I take them off, it's a bit red in one spot and the skin is rubbed off a little.
I use them very frequently, and it has been a big annoyance for a long time. Is there any way to fix the problem without altering the headphone's sound characteristics? I'm getting new earpads which should help a bit (mine are peeling), but I'd like to fix the problem fully.
Also, I'm interested in the HFI-780 cans. What are the sound characteristics like compared to the 700's? Would you guys recommend a switch to the 780's? (I'm a college student, so money is a bit hard to come by.) Also, does it have the same problem with having too shallow ear cups?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
