Sorry if this has already been answered but is it possible for me to say Hook up my Speakers, and my laptop and my MP3 player at the same thing and i just turn the nob to switch between the source?

They are confirmed to ship out on 2/10 from factory so we will start to enable order taking on 2/11. Unfortunately I think the small shipment that we manage to get out (before factory close for a week for Chinese New Year holidays in Taiwan) will be sold out very quickly. Well, at least we will have some available for people to post feedback.
So if its really finalized, can you post good pics of internals?

It should be that way with Windows too.

Do you mean powered speakers via the RCA output?

You can connect up to three sources at a time, and switch between the three sources - USB, one S/PDIF (3.5 mm optical or RCA) and one analog (3.5 mm or RCA).

The sound will come out of the RCA outputs and be controlled by the volume knob unless you plug in a headphone, and then the RCA will shut off and sound will come out the 6.5 mm (1/4") headphone jack.

I will ask if that is allowed. I think this is a "hand modded PCB to reach final production spec", because the production ones shipping to customers wont reach Nuforce in CA from Taiwan until 2/12/10, and this shipped to me from CA on Tuesday.

Is there any change in sound quality if you increase the operating system volume but decrease the volume using the knob on the HDP and vice versa? I've found it made no difference with my Musiland and Arietta amp combo but I'd like your input on it for the HDP.

I haven't really spent much time doing that. In general, no difference. But I suppose if I was to turn up the amp and down the system's volume that I'd be missing some bits, and my 24/96 music would be down closer to 16 bits and still sound good.

16/44.1 CD rips also sound good with the HDP, despite no up-sampling.

There is a picture of the internals up on Amazon. I almost bought one yesterday.

Edit:It's not there now. Hmm, there was a black and silver one yesterday. It said there were three of each.

Seems to have a very good review.

Maybe I should invest on this for my office rig + TF 10.

Did you order from Amazon or did you have special arrangements with Nuforce to pick up?

Well there are always duty/brokerage fees regardless... though it's a coin flip whether or not they'll charge you on it.
My silver HDP just got shipped, can't wait to get them next week! I'll tell you if I get hit with anything

I ordered it through amazon and told them (email) I'd pick it up locally. They called me when they got it.

First impression: NOOoooooo! I can hear hiss through it with my E4C, which means they for sure will hiss even more with the SE530. This is at 0 volume, goes up more as you go up the volume, or even when the volume knob is completely switched off, with or without stuff playing. That's all I'm going to say for now.

We didn't hear any hiss and neither did Larry. So many headphones and earphones were tried. Not sure if E4C is one of them. Perhaps you will have more to report after you investigate the hiss.
