Urgent Question - SQ - iPhone 3G vs 3GS

Hi All,

Yup, most definitely have searched, but cannot find anything (quick) to hand... If everybody starts firing me links to other posts, I will either edit or delete this post / thread as applicable...

Anyways, my predicament... I currently have a [legally] unlocked iPhone 3G, but it lags quite badly with apps like tap tap revenge 3 (love that app!) - anyways, seeing that the 3GS is arguably 50% faster, I am sorely tempted to get one, but do not want a new contract...

I can go to a shop, that has one in stock, and exchange the 3G, along with my Cowon D2 and S9 (I use neither) for a 16gb 3GS... - You may question the value of this trade, but - it is costing me no hard cash, so it is win-win for me...

Anyway, will the 3GS be an improvement over the already pretty good SQ of the 3G (from the headphone out)?

In a word - yes. I had the iphone 3G for a year before upgrading to the 3GS. The 3GS sounds better than the 3G in everyway, specifically, soundstage is slightly widened and the treble is a tad crisper to me.

Also the increased speed of the phone makes other tasks even more pleasurable - theres virtually no wait time for any stock apps (I used to notice a wait when firing up the sms app on the 3G)

I haven't tried any of your IEMs with the 3GS, but if they worked fine with the 3G you should have no problems...

Thanks for replying Onza...

I made the trade, and am quite happy with the decision...

...I might've lost my Cowon players, but - didn't use them anyway, so - not overly fussed
