HiFi Man cables and mods at Moon Audio
Headphones are on the way. Hifiman Player to follow at some point. Cables can be made now. Such as the mini digital cable which is already listed Here and shown below. I still need to add pics for this to the site for this cable.
I have connecors to make Headphone cables out of our Silver/Blue/Black Dragon as well as Cardas cables. I am going to see if our new detachable cable Mod connectors will work as seen on the Beyerdynamic Page. This way the Hifiman will be universal with the other phones we are doing this mod with. Price of the headphone cables are $25 cheaper than the HD800 cables column. Will add the prices to the site as soon as I get the HiFimanpage up.
Here are the connectors for this:
Black Dragon 75 ohm Mini Coax Digital Cable for the HiFiman Player

The Black Dragon mini coax cable was originally designed to be mated with the new Hifiman Player by Head direct, but we were so pleased with the results that we are also recommending it in normal SPDIF applications. The cable is extremely flexible which makes it a perfect match for portable digital transmission applications as well as for stationary set ups. The Black Dragon uses a miniature 75 ohm cable geometry based on RG179 specifications. It uses a silver-plated copper 7 stand conductor , and a 100% coverage silver-plated copper shield. Both are 99.99% silver over 99.999% oxygen free slow drawn copper. We can build the cable with either Neutrik NYS231 mini plug to Cardas GRLM RCA or with Cardas RCAs on both ends. Your choice.
The wire is soldered to the connectors with Cardas silver solder. The Cable is then covered in 1 layers of Techflex braid to protect the geometry integrity of the cable. As with all of my cables, I offer a 30 day money back guarantee on standard lengths. I do recommend a 40hr break-in time for the cable. For Pricing Visit Here

In your website you sell HE-5 with silver 2 dragon cable. Do you sell
just silver dragon What is the price of one 12 ft cable with 1/4 terminal? and another 6ft or 8ft with balanced XLR to the ZDT headphone amp ?
What is the benefit of SQ to be over the stock cable? Can I do it myself or I need to send the headphone to you but I saw they provide additional connector so that you can change the cable?
thanks,
Kiertijai

Yes the Silver Dragon is exactly what you want. We are now on the new Version 3 Silver Dragon and will be showing at RMAF Can Jam in a couple of weeks. I will post a picture here soon of the new HE5/HE5LE cable. The SD will add detail clarity and better presentation. It will not make the phone too forward but will improve the high frequency character.

Silly question: How does this work? The coax input on the hifiman gets only digital data! Does the cable alter the binary data so that there is a difference in the sound???

The comments you quoted above are for the HE5, HE5LE and HE6. These are Headphones. Different cable materials offer different sonic properties. They do no modify data.

Ah, o.k., I thought the original question was related to the coaxial cable for the Hifiman which is pictured further above (The Black Dragon mini coax cable for the Hifiman and the related question ...).
Glad though you agree that digital data cannot purposefully be affected due to cable material in a way that would change overall sound quality specifically.
