Broken CD player - repair in the UK?

My Onkyo CD player is broken. It doesn't spin or move any disc when loaded and just registers Track = 0.

It just started doing this so I presume the starter motor or something is gone.

My old Technics portable discplayer from 1992 is also doing the same, but fires up, spins a bit, then slows down and gives up.

I'd like to get both repaired. Will it be economical?

Does anyone in the UK do this?

Thanks.

Well just as well I didn't find a repair guy - the CD player has suddenly started working again!

How weird is that? I tilted it and suddenly it has come back to life. It's possible that it was only something loose. Will hang on then and wait until it breaks down again...
