Leftover parts - Page 2

It's probably not worth worrying about standard resistors and generic caps (10uf, 100uf electrolytics, etc). Those can be found at radioshack if need be, and the amount of organization and pain involved in those is not worth it IMO.

whoa... in that case, forget my idea.

bugzilla sounds good, I got some bits and pieces I can donate too. Is this the start of a headfi DIY repository?

You could donate to a Hackerspace if you have one in your area. HackerspaceWiki

I keep meaning to check out the DC one, but haven't found the time.

I'll pay for good transformers- especially single ended output. I posted an ad today. Send me a PM>

Caps and resistors- not so much....

I am _seriously_ doubting I could find a single cap at RS that I would use in one of my builds. Seriously. Maybe on a cmoy, or test rig... now maybe at Frys...

Just to demonstrate the magnitude, here is a spreadsheet (ignore the pricing):

http://home.swbell.net/pabbi/DIYParts.xls

with the larger bits - and NOT including 1000 resistors, diodes, leds, transistors and stuff that is truly useful to some one, some where, some time.

For instance, I also have 3000' of 16878/3 600v milspec wire, on 5 large spools - it would be $40 just to ship it in the CONUS.

It seems no one person benefits from it all, or they would have bought it (as posted in the FS forums).

So, we'll ponder more, but it appears there is no efficient transfer mechanism to get the right parts to who needs them. Maybe I'll just play benefactor, OR, maybe it could make quite a door present for a DIY meet... all DIY, all day / weekend long. Regardless of where that DIY meet is located.

I'm talking about standard caps, not audio-grade ones. If you want to list Nichicon Muse caps, definitely, but I'm just saying there's no point in listing your average $0.07 Panasonic 10uf electrolytic (that you CAN find at RS). You're certainly welcome to if you want to deal with it, but I wouldn't want to. Same goes for standard 1/4W resistors.
