It's official... iPad!! - Page 20

lol this is so bad. imagine your game apps... its going to be harder to play the games since the buttons will be spaced out due to the screen

also, you will look like an idiot tilting it and etc for games as well
so dumb.

I think you are right, most of the people that are bashing this are just apple haters that have not and do not care to use anything by apple. I have had my ipod touch for a while now and I am still amazed at everything this little thing can do. It's all of the apps from 3rd party developers that make this thing so great, and I do use if for the internet but I have always thought it would be nice to have it on a larger screen as well. I can't wait to see what some of the developers come up with for this device, because that is one of the big selling points, and imo what is going to set this device apart from the netbooks.

It has not got my full attention yet as I have not been able to get a hands on but my iPhone and MBP fill all my current needs but the wife thought it was neat and made a statement to the effect that she would not have to turn a nightstand light on to read a few
pages before bedtime she also laughed when she read the part about it being harder on
your eyes when the majority of our work is spent reading pages on computers already.

I had the Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, 3 iTouchs and I think the iPad sucks.

That is exactly what I was thinking. How can people say how bad of an ebook reader this is going to be because it isn't e-ink but it's backlit. Well I guess that people that are saying that are really straining their eyes reading the forums here everyday, or I guess none of them sit behind a desk and stare at a computer screen for 8 hours a day, and then some more when they get home at night. If you ask me complaining this isn't e-ink is just a load of ****, I know I spend plenty of time reading on the computer everyday, and have even read a few short stories on my ipod touch without a problem except for wishing the screen was bigger.

I find this thread funny the same way I found it funny when everyone could not wait to bash the new shuffle. I was there because I had an interest in it (3g Shuffle). And 6 months later I still love it. Works great with my 4i, and I just throw it in my gym bag. Super small, and I can listen to my gym music while working out, and Miles on my walk home. And when running I could easily navigate without taking the player off. I was interested in that thread because I had an interest in the product. The people who were writing it off never took the time to even care how somebody else may use it. Unfort. I had to sift thru all the BS from people that never owned it, just to get some simple facts.

Same deal here. There are so many products on Head-fi that I have no interest in... HD800, HiFIMAN, Zune HD, and there are a bunch more. But the thing is you won't find me anywhere in those threads. Wouldn't it make more sense to spend YOUR time examining/ commenting on products you are interested in?

Surely you don't think your carefully worded posts are adding anything to anything? We can at least agree on that, right?

Very true, same for me, I don't go into the forums talking about cables and say how ridiculous I think it is to spend hundreds of dollars on them. This thread would be more productive if the trolls and apple haters just left and go discuss things they actually have interest in.

You got to look at it this way they helped bump the views to over 6000 see
there is a plus to everything they inadvertently spurred more attention to the iPad.

To me the biggest selling point is the fact that it IS a bigger and more powerful iPod Touch with 3G. (and may I add that there is NO CONTRACT for 3G, you can pay as you go) The screen size and the fact that its still freakin thin as hell, is the reason I'm gettin' one. People just don't realize the potential of the bigger screen for apps.

Tell us more about your experiences with the iPad, as no one else has used one

even without digital output (it may still be doable, we dont know yet) using my existing LOD to FiQuest and JH13 or HD600 this thing will make a great travel companion
I predict that there will be a bazillion new dock-type adapters for this thing along with the ones that Apple is selling, and that future versions of the iPad will have a dock adapter on the side and the bottom as well for convenience when orientating and connecting things.

For me, I am well excited about this product. I will be getting it to view documents (IEEE standards, etc) and carry with me different translations of the Bible. This would go toe to toe with the Kindle DX in terms of price. But this thing can do far more. I can see myself using a little internet here and there and perhaps watch a movie or check few emails. Last thing I want to use this is for portable audio. It would have been nice to be able to listen to music while reading. I think that this device is closer to the meaning of "netbook" than other netbooks in the market today, which in concept are trying to be smaller and cheaper versions of full size laptops.

So are those of us who have an interest in the device but find it disappointing (in its current form) welcome to stay?

Everyone - read this post. GeorgeT and I have had countless run ins because he thinks I am a huge fanboy while I think he is the number one Apple hater. If he thinks to buy one, something is up.

Way too limited for my taste.
Just the lack of support for Mac OS X is enough to put me away, without even looking into other missing features.
