I can't speak for anyone but myself but I buy a lot of gifts locally. I've only given Grados as a gift on one occasion, and that was for my late sister. I don't think she got as much out of receiving the headphones as I got out of giving them.

I like the idea that Grados are a luxury that people buy for themselves, not for others. At Christmas time, when you're tapped to buy for others, there's less money to buy for yourself. That doesn't mean it works like that for everybody, but it seems reasonable to me.

X2. In Spanish it means 'step' and also 'degree' (as in temperature). Given that 9/10 of the top search countries speak Spanish, that trend is most certainly capturing people's discussions of the weather (hot in summer, comfortable in winter).

Are you calling me your girlfriend? +

Try searching "grado headphones" and you will see 1) that the primary language is now English and 2) that there are more purchases made during the period right before X-mas. Obviously searching "grado" is not doing a proper job of detecting the trend for these headphones and rather vacation destinations and other Spanish meanings. Sheesh. Next thread.

People without an interest in high fidelity would probably hate the way they look. Personally, I think Grados are DAMN sexy.

What this tells me:

Bose and Sennheiser are bought for other people as gifts during the holidays. Then those people realize they don't like them, and in the spring search for new phones and get Grados

It's interesting that the top language for Sennheiser is Czech. I wonder if the time period for the lists is the same as the chart?

Google Trends: grado headphones
Exactly. I'm italian and if you say "grado" in Italy None thinks you're talking 'bout headphones, so only a little par of the researches for word grado is about headphones.
