Earbuds needed - Earbuds found

So after years of listening to IEM's I have finally decided to try to go with earbuds for the majority of my on the go listening. I have a few good reasons. I am TIRED of ear wax. I think my right ear is very sensitive because after a couple days of use with IEM's I always get a pretty rapid amount of ear wax buildup. Never an issue with my left ear. Can't spend tons of time trying to clean them out everyday and I don't like getting ear clog. I listen to my music at low volumes....my walkman goes to 30...I listen to IEM's at 8 and full size at 10, so loud volume is not causing the issue. It's just shoving those things in and impeding wax movement...which is normal and necessary.

I can't listen to full size headphones at work so that rules out any of my portable full size.

Sigh....so I have come to actually want some quality earbuds. Can you guys toss me some good recommendations? If it's the PK1, would you guys think that the E5 can drive those? I don't like carrying amps and a lot of gear with me. Also, are the Yuin's smaller than other buds? In the past I have always had a hard time keeping buds to stay put.

Thanks in advance...looking forward to the feedback.

Edit: Oh ya, currently I use the x10 with the Sony hybrid tips. On occasion I listen to my S4's with the Klipsch tips.

Do you really need amplification for small ear buds?

Anyway I can´t really say if they are good or not since I have no references... Well my full size ED 8, Pro 900 etc or the stock apple ear buds

I do have the PK 3 and the form and shape is identical to the apple ear buds. Thanks to the foam they do stay in place better. I move around all the time when I work. I put a new record in 2h before the left one popped out. It´s always the left with my ears lol.

The stock ear buds I couldn´t use at all record there was 10 minutes but some felt would probably solve the same purpose for those of course. As for comfort the foam do tickle my outer ears some. You have to fiddle to get them in the exact right position if you want to get max out of them. But when I am on the go I don´t really care that much about "maxing" them out.

As mentioned have no references but if you can get around the annoyances of having to baby them at times to stay put they do what I hope them do. They are good enough to let me enjoy music on the go and a clear upgrade compared to the stock ear buds... I can use them in environments where I can´t use the ED 8 or 900. Since those are not trashable! That is environments with little background noise since they are very open.

Doesn´t sound that bad the bass is pretty impressive for such small ear phones but you have to have the context of course. I have no problem enjoying music on the go so they pass that threshold even though there is a mountain to climb compared to any of my full size headphones

Actually I think the PK1 is quite power hungry.
I have the Edition 8 also, so I know what you mean there! lol But I can't wear even my PortaPros while at work, so low profile is the way to go.

From what I have read the PK1s need some amplication to get good sound out of them. If you are looking for some good earbuds the PK3's are good for their price.

Here is a link to buds/clips in the Yuin line.

get the pk2/pk3 because as mentioned above, the pk1 will require an amp.

Thanks. Looks like the PK2 is the way to go at this point. If I would carry an amp, would the Fiio E3 or E5 be strong enough to push the PK1? Keep the suggestions coming.

I have been lurking around for a while now and it seems like the AMP3 and the Pk1 have good synergy. I thinking about pulling the plug on this combo myself. so if you are in the market for a New player aswell this might be the way to go.

Crossroads may be worth looking into. I had never heard of them before.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if the PK1 can be powered by the Fiio E5. If I do end up carrying an amp, I would really like it to be very small.

i think if Fiio E5 size is no problem for you, u may consider Ibasso T3, it is very small too, and can enter your wallet

Well, the PK2 should be waiting on my doorstep when I get home today. I sure hope they are good. I dug out an old pair of RCA earbuds and they are just AWFUL!!!!!!!!! Ugh. After listening to quality IEMs for so long, I guess this is going to be a slow transition. I am tempering my expectations, but I'm hoping they produce a significantly better sound than those RCA's.

Edit: Not RCA's but Phillips earbuds.

Well, someone should fly to my house and slap the sh*t out of me for my earlier post! Wow!! Just played 3 songs on the Yuin PK2 and man what a nice surprise. They actually have a full sound with decent bass. I quickly did an A/B with the Phillips that I had...my gosh. It was silly to do that. It was completely unfair. They don't sound as good as my S4's or my X10's for sure....but they do sound better than some of my IEMs, hands down. When I get a few more minutes I'll compare some of them and see what I come up with.

But from 3 first impression songs, I have to give it up to Yuin. They have come up with quite an earbud here. Makes me truly wonder what the heck one could expect from the PK1.
