returning that would be a b*tch. I would not buy that from china. fake or not.

it could cost you that much to return it if its doa. and it very well could be.

buy locally or at least in the US where you can get real customer service.

(I just had to return a battery to china due to the seller sending me a fake. I'm still waiting for a refund and had to foot the bill for return shipping. not worth it!!)

Seller "niosales" is an authorized seller and has 100% feedback.

Also if you buy your tips from the Hakko site they dont charge for shipping.

ADDED: Don't mess around when it comes to tools you use. I have a pair of snips I bought at Harbor Freight...POS is rusted shut and so dull they won't cut smoothly. Sure I paid about 2 dollars for them, but they are worthless junk and that 2 dollars is gone.

$79.30 for a Hakko 936 from China or $75 plus shipping and tax (where applicable) from Frys.
Why would you even consider the one from China?
I know which seller would have the UPS driver ringing the doorbell on Monday.

Fake.

If you want ok cheap station then these fhakkos are fine, better than any simple irons.,
but if you want to enjoy soldering, then you'll have to go with real hakkos.

Missing logo from the iron itself? or just not rotated correctly

It's only another $10 or so to be sure.

I looked at the 936 on Amazon for $79.00 shipped, then went tip shopping at Hakko for sizes suggested by a member who's got more soldering equipment then "carters has pills" (thanks si) ... I wound up buying the everything from Hakko, 936 w/907 handle, tips, tip cleaner etc. I may have spent $13.00 more than I would at amazon but if there's any issues at least I'll deal direct with them ... BTW shipping was same day and my M^3 kit should be here by the end of the week.

Fry's has them for about $79 lately as well, if that is an option. Price has come down since I bought mine.
