I think you will get a wonderful DAC with headphone amp from us in half year!

Hi David,
Will your new Dac be balanced? i'm looking to go balanced and i wouldn't hesitate buying from you again, based on the performance of the current model and that the internals are truly great workmanship with good materials. The DMK IV is pretty good, i think i'll put the new opamps on the current DMK IV to see how it improves the sound.
I think the DMK IV will be a great unit if the improvements are true and implemented in the current production run.

very nice! please don't forget LT1028ACN8 in the headphones amp, because together w/ AD797BR they are the best opamps money can buy to many DIYers and amps manufacturers.

Yes, you can replace the OPA2134 with LM4562 , the sound will be better! But you should need good skill!

We will list the new product in our website when it is available!

Do not worry about it, We will offer a DIP8 socket for the headphone OP AMP, user can use different amp chips as they like!

Yes, in the new DAC we will use AD797BR!

Can any body give some advice about the displayer, someone think VFD is beautiful, others think Displayer is no need! Need some advice here!

well, LT1028ACN is only stable for <1 gain, and needs a proper design to avoid oscillation...it can't be rolled blindly, so it'd be nice if you could make a friendly environment then!

apparently a 510Ω resistor on pin 3 is enough to make it happy

Actually my unit came with AD797 i will wait another month to the final decision. I did had it running for may be 200 hrs.

Yes, we will have TAMP-300 which adopt TA3020 chip! if you do not need large power, TAMP-90 is ok for you, Now we have distributor in USA for the TAMP-90

Great.

I wish for the next DAC a smaller case and an option for play musik from an usb stick/storage or external hdd. that would be awesome. a smaller display would be no problem till you know which song plays right now.

And will you update the tamp20 someday?

one of the two DAC will be in a smaller case! But will not add an option for play musik from an usb stick/storage or external hdd, I think is the work of wav HDD player! maybe we will develop a wav HDD player in the future!

I think the display is a very nice touch and that was what draw my attention to the DMK IV and ultimately brought me to this site.
I find it a nice feature being able to display the information more throughly than other units that are more "mechanical" oriented, however i don't know having it on all the time makes me think that the display will eventually burn out one day eventually (being realistic i expect 2-3 yrs of heavy usage) sometimes is just not needed because you are not focused on the unit all the time.

I would like to know if you can implement like the mp3 players, the display goes OFF may be after 30 secs of inactivity, then a few small LEDs that display the basic info, like the source (i.e. usb, coax, spdif) to indicate the unit is running.

That would be a great feature if you can implement that. The 1 knob design is very clever where you can press down for selecting the modes i like it hope it still be there.

I would drop the remote, that is an unnecessary feature IMO because it isn't used much, people will use them on their desk so it'll be arms reach anyways.

I hope the new unit had balanced XLR amped outputs, and of course the DAC XLR out but may be i'm asking too much

I think the new DAC should have aesthetics that relates to the DMK IV so you can build your brand identity.
