David sorry for the late reply, PM sent with my contact information. Thanks.

That looks like a reasonable price. Looking forward to your impressions mrarroyo!

Looks interesting so far... :)

Just a few questions:

  1. Is the volume control analog or digital (hopefully digital because of the non-ALPS Blue pot)
  2. What did you use as output transistors for the headphone amp? (I imagine that's an class AB buffer?!)
  3. Is the headphone amp dc-coupled?
  4. Do the LEDs at the front just show the actual sample rate or is there an additional ASRC inside the SMK-III?

Thanks and regards.

Hello:

 1.  the volume is analog, not digital!

 2.  Yes, it is class AB buffer circuit for the headphone amp!

 3.  Yes, headphone amplifer DC-Coupled!

 4.  The LEDs at the front just show the actual sample rate!

Over!

Thanks

Waiting ... still waiting...  I am not very good at this waiting thing.

David once again I thank you for the opportunity.

very nice! rollable opamps apparently? for both the DAC I/V and headphones amp?

you could have added a WM8804 reclocker on all inputs via I2S to provide lower jitter, like in the Neko DA100 DAC and the Firestone BRAVO transport.

the 110/220V switch looks very dangerous to me, too easy to switch it by mistake and watch the unit melt IMHO.

You can't just put tape over that switch? lol

I second that. A smaller switch would've been better ... regardless of any tape action somebody might want to do.

Fine, epoxy putty.

Hello:

The switch on the back panel is power switch, not 110/220V switch!

We will ship the DAC according to the country, if for USA/Canada/ Japan, we will ship 110V Version, if for Australia / Europe we will ship the 230V Version!

Do do not worry about the switch, it is power switch!

I think that last post should have been a private message.

So it's the power switch. The labeling there is a bit misleading, maybe you should have a blank space there and print/write in manually if the unit is 110V or 230V.

I would still be interested in a statement from david with respect to the advertised 24/96 capability of the DMK-IV which the actual units do not seem to support producing only static noise when fed such source material.
