Iphone terrible bass response? - Page 2

i´ve tried a 3rd gen touch and a classic in a apple store with my IE 8
the bass seemed "farty" wide, all over the place, no impact, fuzzy, nothing i would want to listen to,

but then again, wasnt my choice of music and didnt touch the EQ,

It was most likely compressed music dowloaded from the iTunes music store.

If you were fortunate, it was the newish "iTunes Plus" bitrate (AAC+), but still quite compressed

Your IE8s are relatively high-end and would only serve to amplify the imperfections in this source material.

IMHO the software EQ would only have served to make things worse.

Try some of these, they sound great with compressed music !
