Really don't mean to add a negative spin but I am not young and idealistic and have seen far more than you can imagine including having witnessed 9/11 first hand. My response was not why do they hate us, it was what did we do to cause it? And the US continues the same policies under the guise protecting ourselves from terrorism in order to perpetuate war and hatred.

Anyway I digress ... this is a site about h-fi.
A typical stereotyping of people. Thank G@D your gone from the U.S. we dont need you here. Well I'm gonna take my FAT, LAZY, NARCISSISTIC self (Genarelly Speaking), to another thread because this one will get me in trouble. This will be my last post here. To all who want to leave the U.S. Good luck and Good rid-ins.

YOU'RE. Dude, seriously? Arg. Grammar and spelling mistakes be a pet peeve of mine something fierce.

Anyway skoog is unfortunately correct, political agendas aside... if you looked at the latest stats, we have more Obesity (not just overweight, but unhealthy Very Overweight people) than almost any other country(ies), and our consumerism and consumption is very high as well (look to Wal-Mart, outsourcing, etc. More, cheaper, faster.) You may disagree with the negative tone, but facts are facts and statistics are statistics. We have a lotof fat people in this country, and the 'Age of Entitlement' as some have called it is definitely rearing its head. Kids raising offspring is fairly common, as are blogs/tweets/whatever about how hard life is as a teen -- even though as I’m sure you'd agree, we have it pretty darn good in this country. I am fairly 'Left' politically, but I also can fully recognize that we have many things handed to us in the USA, and despite that fact, it's becoming more and more common for each new generation to be 'Emo' about it and hate the government/life/whatever. I don't know about the Lazy part, but like I said; regarding weight/health and personal feelings of entitlement, the facts don't lie. Does that mean we are a country of useless jerks? No, not really. I think "in general" there's a lot of unfortunately uneducated and ignorant people in this country, as well as a lot of unhealthy and overweight people, and people that value consumption over much else without possibly even realizing it, but that doesn't make it a lost cause. What's the phrase, the sum is more than the parts? Something like that. I disagree politically and socially/sociologically with a lot of things in this country similar to what skoog is saying, but I also KNOW that we have a great free ride -- which many many many of us take for granted, and are thus easily labeled as fat/arrogant/lazy/etc. I think the "truth" is about right in the middle between Patriotism/Nationalism and/or positions such as yours, and disgust/pessimism and/or views such as skoog's. There are a lot of things wrong with this country, and its people, but there are also a lot of awesome things about this country. We need to seriously and collectively put our BS aside and pull our heads out of our arses, and take an objective stock of our beliefs and situation -- politically, culturally, socioeconomically and otherwise.

An average of 3,500 minors are apprehended trying to cross the southern border into the U.S. ALONE each year, most of which were sent or allowed by their parents. These are just the ones that are apprehended. The real number is obviously much, much higher. If things sucked so bad here, would this be happening?

I'm not pro any country in particular. As already mentioned, there's good and bad everywhere. I just recognize when I have it good. People who hate it here really need to visit any 3rd world country to see just how bad things can be.

Back on topic, if you want to move to Ireland or Seattle, both would be wonderful places to live, especially if you like rain. lol
