I just got back from the audiophile store in town with my new toy

Here's my take on the SR225is.
They sound amazing compared to my SR60is. The Trebles (although harsh at the moment) are much crisper, the mids have alot more kick and the bass... well, its like someone's punching my ears with awesome
As for the sound stage its much wider and instrument separation is much more distinct. Certain sounds don't tend to mesh together like they do on the SR60is.
Classic Rock (ZZ-Top, Van Halen, AC/DC to name a few) which has less to keep up with, is more fun to listen to than ever before. I get all the extra sounds that might have been tied up in the crossfire, no specific frequency takes priority over another so I get an equal dose of every instrument.
Modern Rock is the same, I get all sorts of extra sounds which add to an already great song. The bass (instrument) really gets its fair share of the experience and stands out more than ever before with these cans.
Heavy Metal isn't just a wall of sound anymore! All that distortion and speedy drumming is really brought out with these cans. Where most cans only get out the loudest parts of the chords (excuse me if I'm saying wrong) the SR225is give the extra fade in and fade out that get lost in the rest of the music. On top of that, the drums (which I hear mostly behind me) are even more distinct than ever before and don't tend to get slurred together especially during those fast paced drum solos.
Electronica is a whole new experience. The bass knocked me off my feet. The layered music gets better and better as the song progresses. Not one sound is cut off by another. As I listen and relisten I start to hear hidden things I never new existed in the song. You know that one sound that you thought disappered after the opening? Yeah its actually been there the whole time
Rap pretty much sounds the same, just crisper and the MC doesn't cut out the background sound. So I get to hear all the silly sounds added to the song.
As for the pads, the bowl design really helps with the airflow into my ear. I tried putting my comfy's on to see if there was a difference and there is, and it's very noticeable. So if you have a pair of Grado's and don't have the bowl pads, I strongly suggest buying some (they are better than the quarter mod).
Also know that these haven't been burned in yet (4 hours of listening at the time of this post) and everyone knows cans sound the best burned in so I'll report back in a few days with an update.
The only thing I regret is not having bought them yesterday
