Ive possible great deals for
iAudio S9 16GB - 140Euros and
iRiver P7 16GB - 70 Euros
also been thinking about i7, M3, M6SL, O2, D2
My preferences: SQ only, fidelity, detailed sound, 'flat' frequency response, no EQ, no enhancers, using without amp - only headphones out. I have available IEM: FutureSonics em3 32ohm and Senn px100 - I had iPhone 3G 16gb before but unluckily fell and shattered display, home button and broken flash boot memory
. (sold for 130 euros so not so big issue) Cannot compare 3G with some iAudio since I had only eStar Lab Monolith Slide 512 MB with some wolfsons DAC. SQ was good though.
I dont care about: size, battery, display, features, price under 150.... just SQ
I have been also researching this and others forum and gathered this:
iAudio S9 -WM8750S DAC seems not so expensive - used in older models (nano 2g) but apparently Cowon made S9 sounds stellar.. how you think this DAC is compared to others players I mentioned?
iRiver P7 - WM8988 seems better(more expensive?) DAC then S9 - somebody compared these two and p7 wins http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f15/pi...ver-p7-459933/ (i understand its personal opinion)
iAudio O2 - TI DaVinci DAC
iAudio D2 - WM8985 - the most expensive one? - SQ proven by a lot of ppl.
iAudio 7 - WM8731L - some say better than D2
M6SL - WM8987
M3 - M6 DAC Philips UDA1380TT
I'm quite towards the S9 but if somebody says the P7 has better SQ I will choose that one. i7, O2, D2 or iTouch 2g/3g seems also options.. been thinking about Rio Karma and some Sonys as well. I know thats a lot of DAPs but anybody who can help me in regards to my SQ preferences with most detailed and faithful sound will be much appreciated.
