Connections and Converters

This is insanity, in all the conversations and cables required to get my stuff going. ANYWAY.

For now, all I have is a fairly good quality portable amp to power my laptop setup. It only has a 1/4" in. I'm going to be getting a DACMAGIC, which offers both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR outs. Now, which would be better:

DAC --> 2x XLR --> 2x 1/4" --> combined to 1x 1/4" --> Amp

OR

DAC --> RCA --> 1x 1/4" --> AMP

Which would offer the superior quality? If it makes no difference, an RCA cable would be much easier, thus, I'd go with that.

I'm totally lost here.

Since your amp only has 1/4" input, just get the RCA-1/"4 cable and you're all set.

Ex: DAC --> 2x XLR --> 2x 1/4" --> 1 1/4" --> Amp
