Any spare resistors?

I am cheap and hoping a friendly DIYer can help me out. I would rather not pay the $8 for shipping for a component that cost very little.

I am in need of a WW 4 ohm 2W through hole resistor. Unfortunately the body length of the resistor cannot exceed 0.5". I burned up mine due to stupid carelessness. I am willing to PayPal a reasonable amount to cover the cost of the part, stamp, envelope, and your time. Thanks all.

balderon,

1. How close to 4Ω does the resistor need to be? I have one that measures ~4.7Ω.

2. Does the body length need to be less then 1/2" or just the lead spacing? The one I have has a body length of 0.6" but you could certainly bend the leads into an upside-down L shape to fit into two holes 1/2" apart. You could also 'tombstone' it or at least mount it at an angle.

I'm not sure of the power rating but I'd say at least 2W - it's much larger than some 1W that I have.

Thanks MoodySteve. The body size would work. ~4.7Ω may work although it would drop the current below the spec'd minimum. I don't know if that is too low but it can't hurt to try. YGPM

If anyone else has a spare that is 3-4Ω please chime in.

I received the resistor today from MoodySteve! The higher resistance did not adversely effect the circuit and appears to be working well.

Thank you Steven!

Any chance anyone would have a couple spare 68k resistors? I need some for a LOD I am making and Radioshack doesn't have any. PM me if you do, I can do shipping. Sorry to hijack your thread
