Thanks for looking at my ad! I've been able to experience wonderful tube amps and wonderful solid-state amps over the past two years and have finally concluded that I'm a solid-state kind of guy. I'm at peace with my choice

Here is the Mapletree Audio Design HD250 limited-edition headphone amplifier and preamp. You can find more information on Mapletree's website (including a picture of this very amp). There's also an informative thread here on head-fi regarding this amp.

One note about that thread - you will read that several members of the HD250 "club" had issues with an audible hum. My amp has an audible hum on startup which "steps down" over the first 90 seconds into inaudibility. When I first received the amp the hum would step down but was still audible with no music playing (only when using low-impedence cans like Grados). I recently moved my system an rerouted some cables and the hum now steps down to the point of inaudibility. It makes me think I had a little ground loop hum somewhere with my previous listening configuration.

The amp sounds great. For my ears it was an overall improvement over my WA6SE maxxed but I will readily admit that those two amps were never side-by-side...there were about three weeks between one leaving and the other one arriving.

Also included in the sale is a custom switchbox that Lloyd made for me to match the HD250. As I have no use for it and it perfectly matches the amp, it's being included in the sale whether you want it or not The good part is it's free.

Also free are the tubes I have for the amp. I bought a couple pairs of gold-pin EH 12AX7, a pair of Genelex Gold Lion EL84, a pair of JJ EL84, and the amp also includes the Mullard 12AX7 and EH EL84 that Lloyd used to test the amp.

The color is the fabled Sage Green...the amp looks even better in person. The proportions are beautiful and the fit and finish is up to the standard of other Mapletree products.

I have the standard feet back on the amp. I heard a very small but meaningful improvement when I put the amp up on the brass footers and walnut block. It's not essential for good sound but if you're interested in all of it just let me know and we'll work out a deal.

I'm asking $SOLDfor the entire package, Paypal'd but NOT including shipping CONUS. Given that there are only ten of these amps in existence I think the price is very fair. Please PM me with interest.

Well, let me bump this with the "or best offer" added on there. I guess I'm just asking if there is interest out there...
