This may be hard to do for some. It could be the song that moves you. It could be the song that takes you away. It could be the song that is a big part of your life and it needs to be placed here for the world to know! What is your favorite dance song?

This is starting off grand. I have that but have not played it in 10 years. Mine is just the record not an extended mix or variation. Wow, this is a great blast from the past for me! You have taste!

There is a reissue LP for $8.99 at Dusty Groove.

Its a good track as we both have it. I don't honestly know what my favorite single dance track is. Ah it's actually killing me.
(edit to add) I cant pick one. I can't.

Maybe it would not be good to have one song? Just one is not enough. Maybe we should make this be.....List a couple favorite dance songs? Your one choice is wonderful and reminded me of a lot.

I always liked Daft Punk's Music Sounds Better With You. Nice simple house. I remember good times dropping that track at house parties and getting paid in beer.

+1 for Hot Butter, used to love that even though it was out two years before me.

For me I suppose I'll go with Orbital - Chime. It was the first single I ever got on casette and I still have it to this day, I'm surprised it's still working!

Tricky, I can't choose because there are too many favourites:
James Brown & The JBs - Give It Up Or Turn It Loose; Sex Machine; Soul Power; I Feel Good; Papa's Got A Brand New Bag;
David Bowie - Lets Dance;
Slick - Space Bass;
Jamiroquai - too many, his singles compilation says it all!
Joe Tex - You're Right Ray Charles;
Sly & The Familiy Stone - Dance To The Music
Armand van Helden, Daft Punk, Chic, DJ Format, The Prodigy of course The Clash and many more...

One standout from the music I know, sorry two: James Brown - Bonus Beat Reprise and K-os - Born To Run. Bonus Beat Reprise is a bit of an acquired taste but Born To Run is simply infectious.

Don't have one…it's about the mix.

"Give It Up or Turn It Loose" - James Brown
"Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker)" - Parliament
"(Not Just) Knee Deep" - Funkadelic OR "Me, Myself and I" - De La Soul
"Flash Light" - Parliament
"Stay" - David Bowie
"Atomic Dog" - George Clinton
"Heartbeat" - Taana Gardner
"Bizarre Love Triangle" - New Order
"Fight The Power" - Public Enemy
"Vuli Ndlela" - Brenda Fassie
"Black Steel" - Tricky

Just scratches the surface…

Easy, it would Pearl's Girl by Underworld. My clubbing days are long over, but back in the 1930's when I did, it was automatic on the floor for me. A smart dj let the break go although it was an easy song to mix.
